The intent of this collection is to recognize "notable / distinguished" Kansas poets, living and or deceased, who live in or previously resided in the state. 

All contributors whose poems appear on this website retain the rights to their work.

Kansas Poets Section Criteria 

Criteria for inclusion include that Poets must live or previously resided in Kansas; if deceased, they must have resided Kansas at some time.  in this section includes at least one (1) of the following:

• Author of a published book of poetry awarded by a notable press, and or...
  
  
• Author of a published chapbook of poetry awarded by a notable press or journal, and or...
           
• Poetry published in minimum of 20 different recognized literary journals or periodicals of merit, and or...
  
  
• Author of a self-published book of poetry appropriately recognized for its literary sophistication and merit or award. Self-publishing does NOT automatically provide grounds for, or guarantee inclusion!

When providing material for consideration for this section, please provide:

• 4 - 6 poems that best represent your work; include at least 1 poem that in some way reflects Kansas.
• Name of your book(s) and or list of where your work has been published.
• A brief, yet thorough, bio - (if selected, a photo of yourself will be requested)

Notice: In maintaining the credibility of this section's representation of "notable" Kansas poets, the final decision of having one's poetry included resides on the review and unanimous decision of an esteemed team of Kansas poets.  Unless specifically solicited, all material is "blindly" reviewed.

All solicited and or submitted poetry and associated material is "blindly" reviewed by a panel of four esteemed poets. Their unanimous decision as to the merit, based on specific criteria is the deciding factor for posting to this archival collection.

Never before published and previously published poems (with credit) appear on the provided PDF pages.
